I have some cheap threaders that work ok with regular hand and machine sewing. They all end up bent and hard to use and i have no clue why! How fast do you generally go through embroidery needles?

These needles are crewel or embroidery needles and have a longer eye than sharps.
Beginner here… what the experienced artiste’s take on what size needle for certain fabrics? It’s a very simple design and i’m pretty confident that i’ll have no problem doing it with a standard embroidery needle, but i recently learned about punch needles. My problem is when i went to the counter and bought the needles the only available ones were singer 90/14 and 100/16.

I’ve searched amazon and threaders that seem so promising have terrible reviews. I generally go through 1 needle/artwork. Because needles are made from wire, they are sized the same way wire is sized, in most cases.
